Local busses and
time tables
There is a bus stop
about 10 / 15 minutes
walk from the house. Go out of the complex and go straight
through the first roundabout. At the
second roundabout with the
archway / columns (beside the taxi rank / shops) turn left. Walk
along long car park to RIU Perform shop and turn right here. Go
along the road for a few hundred yards passing Baku Market and then Waterpark on the right hand side. At the end of this long
carpark you will be facing a shop selling beach towels / clothes
etc. This is at the start of the shops. Look left and you will
see a
bus stop.
The inside of the
road shown on the picture. (i.e. adjacent to the open land) is
the side you should board the bus on to go to
Olivia RIU
Hotel (beach) and /
or Puerto del Rosario.
From here you can take the bus to Oliva Beach (Linea 06) and get
off at the Oliva RIU Hotel) or take the bus straight to the
ferry port in the opposite direction.
The main bus station at Correlejo is the bus terminus on the ring road at the top of the
town. Alternatively, you can board the bus at the ferry harbour
(where it terminates). The main towns on the island of
Fuerteventura are, and there is a straight line between them:
-
Correlejo (in the
North)
-
Puerto Rosario
(the industrial capital)
-
Calete de Fuste
(also described as El Castillo)
-
Costa Calma
-
Jandia (also know
as Moro Hablo) (in the South)
Unfortunately, there
is not a direct bus to Calete der Fuste from Correlejo. But
don’t worry it is dead easy to get there and cheap as chips (as
opposed to 40 euros in a taxi). The Linea 03 and 06 are every
half hour and every hour on Sunday. You really cannot go wrong
on the island, it is essentially a straight road between the
main towns noted above.
