My wife and I were at first nervous about this until we researched it through island friends. The fact is that out two year old needed the company of children at or just above his own age when we were away for two weeks. This became obvious. He virtually broke in to the Amigos Play Centre down at the shore front when I took him for a walk there one day !!!  It was like a scene from ‘Escape to Victory’.

Now when we go on holiday we always put Finlay with a nursery or child minder for the odd morning or afternoon, and also on the occasional evening to give us a night out on a special occasion.

Private Home Nursery. Stephen and Sally’s. They look after a few children. Turn right out of Alta Vista, pass the Travellers Pub and go up the hill. Walk to the end of the road and turn left. You should see the green and white house at the end of the row with all the children playing in the garden on the swings, chute etc. They are a great couple. This is the facility that we use for Finlay. It is very close to the house, well priced, with a huge reputation for all the right reasons by the local Brits on the island.

Stephen is a qualified English and Maths teacher. Sally is a qualified childminder and classroom assistant.

Tutoring is 6 euros per hour.

Childcare / nursery is 3 euros per hour with special daily rates.

Prices range from 4.5 euros per hour to 6 euros per hour depending on how many hours / sessions you book and whether you pre book or not etc.
